My Worst Fear
-------------------
I fear the day
When you think you’re too old
For a kiss from your dear old dad
Or the day
You’d rather play with friends
I fear the day
When I have to knock
On your bedroom before entering
Or the day
You might not want me to come in
I fear the day
When I’ll come home from work
And you’re not there to meet me at the door
Or the day
You go out that door on your first date
I fear the day
When you’d rather have the keys to the car
Than the key to my heart
Or the day
You’ll move away and rip it apart
I fear the day
When my little boy won’t be little at all
And all I’ll have to look back on his youth
Are pictures and memories.
I fear that day
