A Little Man

Contributed by fldadn1 on Thursday, 22nd April 2004 @ 06:25:04 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

There was a little man
Who had no mouth
All the thoughts he was thinking
He could not speak out

He had ideas of peace
And thoughts of love
And everything was wonderful
Of what he thought of

War was not an issue
And pain did not exist
All the thoughts he thought of
Could be more than a wish

This same little man
With no mouth had no hands
Threw all the differences
This man stayed glad

He tried his hardest
To explain his ideas
But everyone just ignored him
Still he try’s again and again

Finally he gave up
His ideas were to hard to get through
He thought, “It’s impossible with these people
When explaining by clues.

I think this was a rather good poem but it could have used fewer 'of's. It was slightly excessive in use. It messes up the flow for me in a few spots. I think the overall poem was rather unique and I enjoyed it. I do think the final stanza could have been worded better.
