Mother: Simple Memories

Contributed by spiffyphil on Thursday, 22nd April 2004 @ 03:32:47 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It's like looking into loretta's eyes,
Jalapeno peppers, bread and milk - what a mix.
Those late night inventions of food voyuer,
Amidst lucy with pad and palette in hand,
Jotting down ideas and genious sketches,
Such simple memories I have of you,
I wouldn't trade them for the world,
Afterall, they're all I have left of you,
I wonder if theres pleasure in remembering,
Is it worth the pain when reality returns?
It hurts worse when I can't remember your face,
I assure myself that closing my eyes and...
seeing your healing face brings me closer,
closer to something I just can't understand,
Its so hard mother, theres so much I still need,
your love, your wisdom, your warmth, you.
Im a big strong guy, just like you wished for,
I cringe at every sin, every stupid mistake,
because I know I'll hear it from you eventually.
I love you loretta - my mother, my angel.

A Mother's love knows no bounds. It is a terrible thing to loose a Mother. My feelings go out to you at this sad time.

This is a very nice write. Touching, bittersweet.
How our mothers have such a deep impact on our lives. I liked this very much.
