Apology to a Friend

Contributed by Alyssa on Thursday, 22nd April 2004 @ 12:40:03 AM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

I know that it is all my fault.
That I can't take it back.
But now I face reality,
It hit me with a "whack!"

The things I did were wrong,
But he also did them too.
Despite all of these horrible facts,
I never meant to hurt you.

You've been there for me
Thrugh thick and through thin.
And you know I've always thought of you
As one of my own kin.

I realize that I've hurt you
And that I've ruined both our lives.
So this is why I'm telling you
That I apologize.

What I did was wrong
I didn't think things through.
And letting him do this to me
Is not worth losing you.

You are my all.
You are my everything.
You are my one true friend.
And so I pledge my life to you until the very end.

Thank you so much, for you can't know
All that you have done.
No matter how many friends I'll have
You'll always be the very best one.

I'm sorry that I've put you through
All this cruel, cruel mess.
But I hope that you forgive me
Cuz you're a cut above the rest.

I love you friend,
I love him, too.
But when it comes to choosing,
I always will choose you.
