Battered children, broken hearts,
Trust exploited along with their bodies.
The sad eyes of a child
who has grown up with no love or affection,
Never having felt themselves to be
the glorious centre of anyone's world.
A child who grows to adulthood,
Never knowing - perhaps suspecting,
That life could have been sweeter
If only there had been more attention, more patience.
A baby dead from the hands of a protector,
Sprawled open and gutted on an autopsy table,
As if the cause of death lay there.
Instead, let us dissect our world and seek the real cause.
Where children are becoming, not whole.
Where children are property, not individuals.
Where, in the images of purity, vulnerability and precocity
With which we love to dress our children,
Lies the magnet for anger, lust and desecration.
Then, after resecting our world
(for it's the only one we have),
Turn our scalpels inwards, to the
Blind genome that led us to the top of the hill,
Where we sit, victorious and alone
Our mouths wet from the blood of conquest.

you have championed the truth about life in this cruel world by writing graphically about things that need to be expressed in this way more often, people need to be made aware and be educated about the cruelness that exist. Well done.

Very vivid and haunting write, it really tears at your heart. You've captured the desolation and futility of war well. |

Oh my...Written and explained in a manner that made me reflect and ponder even after I finished reading this piece.I have to say this one is my favorite from you,it's very intense, realistic, harsh and disturbing(which I think in a poetic piece makes people contemplate and react) which was written in a beautiful way.Kudos to you on such a powerful piece.I loved it...
