Writers Block

Writers Block

I want to write a poem so bad
But at this moment my heart feels nothing
I sit at keyboard ever ready
But without inspiration the keys are silent

I hear my heartbeat
The blood as it flows thru my veins
I hear the television in the living room
Babbling about nothing as is it’s norm

I even hear tornado sirens wailing
Yet I sit here waiting patiently
For something to shatter the silence
Of a heart that is lonely

Don’t expect this poem to be beautiful
Or even entertaining
It’s just my hearts way of trying
Trying to make contact with something

Anything that might move it
Or make it feel passion again
My heart dies without passion
And it gets weaker each day

Where is her special touch?
The joy of her presence?
Where is the one I need?
To make my heart happy once again

My hearts mission
It’s very reason for creation
Is to proclaim the beauty and wonder
Of your love

And so here I sit ready
To perform my sacred duty
Oblivious to anything and everything
Except the gentle persuasion of your love

Russ

Cheer up, my sweet. Trust me, it can always get worse. Take the time to get reaquainted with your muse and sweet talk her into flowing phrases and words. Just keep your chin up and don't despair.

i can relate so well to what you're feeling right now. I'm sorry you're feeling so numb with pain. My heart goes out to you. I applaud you for having the courage to come up with something when the words just don't flow like they usually do. Pain is often a strange catalyst to the sedative of poetry.
