Contemplate and Consider!

How many times did you say I love you
While you really didn’t mean it?
How many times did you say thank you
While you really didn’t feel it?
How many times did you find an excuse
To lie and deceive and pretend to be true?
How many times did you make use
Of something that didn’t belong to you?
How many times did you confront your soul
In absolute frankness and objectivity?
How many times did you try to refine your soul
From cheap desires and obscenity?
How many times did you free your soul
From your horrible demanding self?
How many times did you take the role
That is only fit for your bare real self?
How many times did you kindly obliterate
Others’ mistakes and debilities?
How many times did you contentedly tolerate
Others’ unfairness and indignities?
How many times did you confess;
"Yes; I might not always be right,
Yet I know, my heart, God will bless
For I rely on Him to clear my insight."
