Topic: Lifepoems

Life can change
In the blink of an eye.
It can make us laugh,
Or bring tears to the eyes.

We try to control
Where freedom reigns.
We suffocate our peace
Like a dove in chains.

Live for today!
Release all your fears.
Submit yourself daily,
Let God come near.

Our Father above
Meant for us to be free.
He sent us His Son,
To give us liberty.

Yet anxiety, anger,
And anguish run free
When the life of today
Should be all that we need.

Why live for tomorrow?
Live for today.
Cherish the moment.
Put your worries away.

Live life to the fullest.
Never cease to enjoy it.
For with every fresh breath
Is born a new moment.

Be happy. Be joyful.
Smile and love.
Today might be the last day
You're given from above.

Having live a long life... almost 67, I finally have seen that yesterday is gone and nothing I do can change it. This is an inspiring poem and one should take note of it's words. June

Bravo! I like the portrayal of grief, anxiety and anger being a chain. So true...

Well done. treat yourself to a subway sandwich. You deserve it.

Again, I like the way this flows. You've got a knack for that. I also like the message sent with this wonderful write.

Lovely write. It screams of inspiration from Matthew 6:34- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Yet a verse I have a daily struggle with applying, finding a balance between planning and true worry. God bless.
Em
