Drops of Love Lost

Topic: toughstuff

I lost myself in eyes of blue,
And sweet words, thus far
Never spoken for me.
Passion giving way
To quiet serenity,
Each night as eyes closed in love.
Promises sworn
Between us
Seemed bound by truest love
And sealed with unmasked gazes.

Such terrific wanting,
needing,
anticipation,
In each soul for its mate,
When the world took us apart
For any breath of time.
Such heavenly excitement,
love,
comfort,
Found, when reunited.
Perfection created
In immaculate kisses.
Lips surely bound in heaven,
For no others have come together
With such unchained emotion.

Each perfect sameness,
So complete and astounding.
Every displeasure,
Deeply, the wounds they cut.
But,
Tears in the soul
Take time to mend.
Time to heal
From within
and without.
Love will push away
The pain.
Shining brighter
Than bruises to the heart.

Suddenly,
White hot and blinding,
Unexpected pangs of lost love.
Emotions felt so deeply before,
Push rationality away.
Leaving anger and unreined thoughts
To command my senses.
Taking control,
Exposing old wounds again.
Decisions.
Mistakes.
Made hastily of pain
And implied betrayal.
Actions performed
In the name of Spite.

Here I am,
Bewildered and lost,
In the tangle of my mind.
Searching this path and that,
For a moment of understanding.
Love that flowered yesterday,
Assured with promises and caresses,
Has gone,
While my eyes looked away.
My depth of pain,
Caused with pure intent,
Twists and tears
My heart,
mind,
and soul.
Leaving mere tatters
Of my former self.
Devouring my days and nights,
This inferno,destroying my soul.
Each second,
an unearthly eternity.
Silent incomprehension
of spoken promises of eternal love,
And actions of complete
Disregard.

Your coldness grips my heart.
Breathing,
more effort than I can muster.
Existing,
more than I can foresee.
Your undeniable goal
To make me live
In a hell I cannot bear,
Of your choosing and method.
Branding this mistake completely
Into my soul forever.
Stabs the deepest place,
Beyond any recognition.
Soul dying second by second,
With every unanswered plea.

Sweet Relief
For a tiny space of time.
Allowed to flow freely,
A fiery release.
Shock of the sting.
Then-
The splendid burning,
As my aching soul
Bleeds out its overwhelming thickness.
Again and again.
One for each regret,
One for each vow made and broken.
Another for forgotten love.
And here for loving more.
Again and again.
There is room for every one.
The knives that cut are many.
Wounds too deep for one lost heart.
Again and again.

Please spare me this cup of Torment.
Strip it from deep within,
Until the color of all of me
Matches my heart full of betrayal.
The scarlet red of impure love,
Sticky and o so sweet.
Like lovely promises
Flowing from me
To sink into the ground
Never to be seen again.

It was long but well worth the read. This just got to me and I felt so much empathy at the ending.
I hope things get better for you real soon.

Welcome to YPDC you are going to do great here.
