The Stranger

A dark cloud passes by.
The light begins to dim.
In the distance a stranger I spy.
A blackness encircles him.
He and I drift closer,
Wandering a path set for us.
Time, here moves slower.
A light wind stirs the dust.
A fear begins to grow in me,
An omniscient feeling in the air,
Encompassing all that I see.
The stranger wears Death’s proud stare.
Close now are we.
I see his face and shudder.
For I am he and he is me.
