I wandered as a child thru a thick, veiling, lying smoke.
The smoke of cigarettes that lied to me,
Propaganda advertised to me
By the people I looked up to most.
The smoke that seeped from under closed doors,
The smoke that lied and beguiled and troubled my youth
The nauseating and mysterious smoke of a life that ignores
The crisp reality smoke, a desirable serum of truth
It was the smoke of maturity,
The smoke of adulthood
