green

Contributed by colette on Saturday, 28th September 2002 @ 04:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

betrayal is green a bitter sad sting
green is the emerald in my
grandmother's ring
cracked but solid she gathers me tight
when i am uncertain
what's wrong
or what's right

velvet green
on an overstuffed chair
i smell green
in the rosemary air

green the tea
in front of my friend
green is constant
a world on the mend

the atlantic is green
angry and vile
green is the mean thoughts
i attempt to file

algae and forests
i find peace in there
a sense of autonomy
grace of a prayer

it can be money or envy so sharp
cactuses and thistles
that stay in my heart

it trembles like poplars
roars like fir trees
i heard in switzerland
green enveloped me

copper turns green
time rocks
back
and
forth
aurora borealis
at night
in the north

green was once
a comfort to me
it wrapped us in promises
never to be.

This is your best "colour" poem - I loved it. Beautiful images.

hey, thanks for the encouragement and for seeking the rest of my poems out. i am an art instructor and collage artist...poetry is a new median...i don't see everything through colour, but found it challenging to attribute different colours to life 'stuff'...can't seem to get orange, lol. thanks alot.colette
