Constants of Life

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Where did all the happy times go?
Why do I feel so alone?
I wish the answers were mine to know
But these answers, to me aren’t shown

I feel deserted
Like a man lost at sea
I feel helpless
Like a bird never free

My hope has been stolen
Like a precious jewel
I thought it was still there
Oh, I am but a fool

I am an Untouchable
One with a purpose and place
An unknown purpose is mine to fulfill
I have but my hands, mind, words and face

People mock me and laugh
Even those whom were my friends
But it means nothing to me
I will see their numerous ends

I play the role that one never wants
I live in a cage of pain
Manipulated into being by myself
In this cage I have lain

It is fashioned of the feelings of people
Those around me with whom I interact
Close ones and far; loved and not
I manipulated until they could no longer react

I hate what I am
But it is my nature and way of life
I can’t help how I am
Nor the way I create my own strife

Times will change
Life will stay the same
People will change
Death stays the same

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
