Shadowed

Contributed by lovingwhispers on Sunday, 18th April 2004 @ 07:58:13 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

For where the sunburnt winds
Touch on my face, caress my hair
I close my eyes, walk through dreams
Heart in hand,a shadowed lair

Recalling a soothing voice,
Mellowing a lost souls pain
Wading through whats born of fear
Only tears to taste,remain

A passing moment makes for a day
Sleepless nights,eternity's dance
No direction,lost without you
Heart, raw and heavy in my hands

This world,she wants a battle
Seeks to feed upon my bones
A tiny morsel upon her plate
I'm stripped bare and die alone

I have called to you in darkness
By light of day, your song I sing
But no more do you walk with me
This fate,a deadly sting

Still I soften at the thought of you
A smile paints my tear stained face
I close my eyes, return to dreams
Where loving you,is my only place

And so the shadowed lair
Becomes a home,a place to grieve
As somewhere in the darkness
Grim reality takes leave
