I sit here alone ( part 3)

Contributed by zexen on Sunday, 18th April 2004 @ 12:54:26 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I sit here alone,
Listening to the evening waves crash against the shore,
Watching the sun setting in the nights sky,
Giving way to the moon,

The cold of the night sends a chill down my spine,
The calls of the wild animals surround me,
I wipe a cold sweat from my brow,
Surely only a fool like me would be out a time like this,
But I’m not,

These who are out at this hour of the night,
They are either brave of idiotic,
Either way it is insanity to be out,

The wild animal prowl their territory,
Guarding the offspring,
The creatures of the night plot against us,
Planning our down fall,
And the end of our civilisation,

But is that a bad thing,
Look at where we are now,
Our cities cover the planet where forests once were,

Ask your self,
Why did we do it,
Why have we destroyed our planet,
Condemning all to death,

I sit here alone,
The midnight waves crashing against the shore,
I watch as the pale moon floats across the sky,
Disappearing into the azure of the new days sky,

And I know we will repeat this day for the rest of our lives,

Hi all,
Just to tell you all I've put the full poem with the ending in my journal,
It should be on the site by the end of the day.
Thanks for your comments
