If someone ever asks me,
Has true love come my way?
My mind would turn to you dear,
And how I feel today.

I feel that I have known love,
But not as deep as yours. Even though my heart belongs to you,
My name belongs to her.

I made to her a promise,
Over thirty years ago.
And though I could not leave her,
There is something you should know.

If I had met you sooner,
This I tell you true,
I would have done most anything,
To hear you say the words “I Do!”
