will you

Contributed by ml03 on Sunday, 18th April 2004 @ 02:18:10 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

will you give me
wings
to fly
or will you
put me in a cage
and lock it up

will you give me
rainbows and smiles
or will you
bury me deep
in a pit
of betrayal and lies

will you give me
an open range
to run free
with the spirit of the wind
and the horses
or cut me short
and fence me in

will you give me
anything or everything
or leave me
poor and begging
on the street corner
starving
begging

for love
what will you give me
heaven
or hell
lies
or scars
what will you give up
what will you change
so
i can be the one
will you hold me up
and give me a pedestal
or leave me
dragging behind

up or down
right or left
here or there
me or him
will you give me
or supress me
be my ever waking nightmare
every moment there
will you give me
one moment
alone to breathe
or will you knock me down
cuff me
tie me up
make me prisioner
take away my freedom

so
whats it going to be
will you give me
the freedom
i desire
the time apart
the trust
the fun
the laughs
and love

i need to know
what i'm getting into to
b/c i don't want to be
the bird in the cage
or fenced in
by you
so
tell me now
if thats how you see it
and we can say bye
it just won't work
then
