You fly without wings
You are attached by no strings
You are free to travel wherever you please
You have seen mountains and desserts, oceans and seas
You can hibernate for months then awake with full force
One minute you blow gently through the mane of a horse
The next you bring massive waves crashing down
Unmercifully allowing the toddler to drown
The sun is constantly at your side
It sends you its beams, shining and wide
What you say is how it is only in my dreams
Every day I am burnt by the sun’s dire beams
Strings I have plenty of
They cause me to turn from the things that I love
They cause me to create innocent people to die
And all along my journey, no one answers my question of “why?�
Yes, I soar with no effort at all
But my only wish is that one day I’d be allowed to fall
So as you can see, I’m really not free
But you, dear child, have the ability to do whatever you please
