Prayer to the Lord

Contributed by hearmyvoice on Saturday, 17th April 2004 @ 08:41:26 PM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Speak into my ear
Whisper to me the secrets you have kept
Breathe onto me your unsurpassed love
My heart is listening, Lord
For too long I have been blindfolded
Unveil me and reveal what I have not seen
I wish to see it shimmer before me, brighter than gold
My heart is watching, Lord
Stroke my face with your gentle fingers
Cover me with your prophylactic body
Declare me as your own and shield me from treachery
My heart is willing, Lord
Set before me plates
Fill them with all things desirable to make my mouth water
Let me eat of them and never be satisfied
My heart is hungry, Lord
Burn the incense that smells sweeter than roses
Let the perfumed clouds build up around me
Consume me with them
My heart is waiting, Lord
Shower down on me blessings
Rain down on me stinging bullets
Unleash your power and do your will
My heart is ready, Lord
Long ago I was seduced
Long ago this fortress fell without a fight
Why am I still holding on?
My heart is dead, Lord
Strip me bear
Force me to cling to you for life
No longer do I want to live on my own
My heart is living, Lord, but barely

This is an awesome prayer, and i am sure God heard it loud and clear. He will answer all who call upon him for help, for he is the only way. Great job.
