Withering Rose Clouded Sun

Contributed by MisterRight on Saturday, 28th September 2002 @ 08:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The rose begins to blossom
Basking in rays from his sun
Sun soon covered by dark cloud
True loves only separation
Rose desires warmth of sun
Sun yearns for roses love
Cloud comes between them
Holding back sun from above
As sun moves across the sky
Rose prays for her glorious shine
Thick dark cloud keeps them apart
Time after time
Cloud holding back the sun
Keeping her hidden away
Rose sits in clouds shadow
Hoping for brighter day
Every now and then
Sun peeks through the cloud
Shines her love upon the rose
Roses heart sings aloud
Brightness of love soon covered
By dusky cloud once more
Rose waits patiently in darkness
For the sun he’s grown to adore
Cloud keeps suns beauty
Concealed from roses sight
Rose fears end of day
And coming lonely night
Without his sun the rose will die
Wither and fade away
Out of shade into suns love
The rose would like to stay
Without the rose the sun shalln’t feel
As needed as she is
Rose whishes cloud to pass by
So the sun will be only his
The thickness of the cloud
Keeps her light from shining through
Without her love to help him grow
What is the rose to do?
Rose leans forward toward sun
Hoping she’ll break herself free
Move past cloud that stands between
So their love, unfettered, can be
