If You See Her

Contributed by melis on Friday, 27th September 2002 @ 04:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

If you see her,
Tell her not to worry or hurry by,
If we should meet on any street or bus;
I won’t make a fuss or scene or try
To do anything unseemly;
And if she asks how I have been,
Tell her you saw me in the rain,
So you don’t know if I'm in pain,
If I had tears or raindrops on my cheeks;
And if she speaks of her new love,
Tell her I'm far above that kind of thing,
Oh! And by the way, that ring she gave
I have it still but do not wear it,
And do not care, if she wants, ill send it;
And let’s not pretend it matters a bit;
It never really did fit, anyway;
And you don’t know if I cry at night,
Or why I haven’t been around too much;
Use a subtle touch, keep it light;
Tell her maybe I have new friends,
And when one thing ends another begins;
No one loses no one wins;
And maybe I wouldn’t want her back,
Or lack for comfort or sit alone,
And die inside and hide and hide
How lost I feel or how unreal
Each day now seems. Tell her this,
If she should ask: which she won’t;
But just in case.

Wow, as if I was depressed enough already. That was really sad. A excellent write, but really sad. I think I'm gonna go have a nice cry now...
