Lying still within, my polythene tent
Oxygen pumped in, through a single vent
Keeping me alive, in this void of mine
Staring at the outside, for such a long time
I was living life fast, leaving my mark
Slumped into unconsciousness, total dark
A blood clot had claimed, a place in my brain
They revived me but I'll never be the same
You wash me and feed me, brush my hair
It's grinding you down and that's not fair
You've given me so much, of your life
It's time to get it back, my darling wife
I can see and hear you but you're unaware
Not a muscle can I move, too much to bare
Switch me off, please hear my plea
Leave me to rest, eternally free

So sad to be captured in a straitjacket of faint... Good and haunting description!

This is so sad.
Heart wrenching.
Don't know what else to say except this is a very strong write.
Luv, huggs, hope,

Euthanasia now is it? *grins* Impressive. Yet . . . deeply emotional. I could almost smell the polythene, this was a so vividly written, again, in now what seems to be a trademark AABB that works for me (no rhyme intended)
5 stars. |
