ECHOOS OF YESTERDAY

Contributed by emystar on Friday, 16th April 2004 @ 01:03:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Sitting here where I grew up
alone in my own world
Grew up wholesome
a bare footed country girl.

Echoos of yesturday lives
Dad, Mom, eight kids
back here in woods
with snakes, birds, katydids
Echoos, echoos of yesturday lives.

Momma's fried apple pies
could win anyone's taste buds.
Her baked bisquits, ummmmm
Was here when she baked her last one.

Daddy's fresh veggies, healthy.
fresh milk from ole Jersy cow.
Momma's chickens gave fresh eggs.
Life so much simpler than now.

Oh Emy, this is wonderful. I remember those times as a child on the farm, running and playing and growing strong. Till one day I decided I need to leave for the big ole world. I participated for a while but came back here as fast as I could. Now I am happy once again. Life in the fast lane does take its toll on one. I just love this piece.

From the title to the ending I absolutely loved this poem so much. It not only made me nostalgic for childhood but it also painted a picture of your childhood to the reader. One of your best.

Thanks for commenting on my poems.

Here's my edition:

Great write. It makes me think back to memories that someone else had. Yours, perhaps?

Maybe we can be buddies.
Coolness

Peace up, A-town down.
