What ifs

Contributed by porcelina_lisa on Thursday, 15th April 2004 @ 11:57:43 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Sitting here feeling alone
so chilled to the bone
I can't voice my fears
or stop my tears
asking myself things
and what this brings
happiness to the heart of me
that I truly want to see
yet for once I should believe
or I don't really recieve
all I've known is so different
and I don't know what's meant
what if I said yes
or just I guess
what if I say no
will feelings go
what if I decided such
and miss so much
what if I say I don't want this
think of all I would miss
what if this were meant to be
maybe I should change me
what if I follow my feelings
and hope for all fair dealings
what if I follow my heart
and we are never apart
what if I'm not good enough
think of that as so tough
what if life holds such gems
yet I cause the problems
what if I say mean comments
and not just my two cents
what if I become unreasonable
leave all concern on the table
what if it ended all love
and hurt to all above
maybe I should allow these times as gifts
and not think so much of the what ifs

The heart is complicated and confusing, the head even more so. You’ve demonstrated this masterfully, and I can really relate to the feeling of uncertainty, as I’m sure most people can. I hope things become clearer, for you and for all of us.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
