Roaming Freely

Contributed by ADreamWithinADream on Wednesday, 14th April 2004 @ 04:05:48 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

Roaming across this disenchanted wasteland of my fallen dreams,
My head ignores my hearts screams,
I have gone on to find finer things,
As I sail across this dead sea on glorious golden wings,
You want only freindship from me, nothing more
So my dear, now I soar,
I am free of you,
To do what I wish to,
And to love the next one as you would not let me,
Friends we will forever be,
I will ask you for advice and will give you mine,
But that is all we shall exchange, besides laughter and friendly care of course;
I will drink in a new love's wine,
From my sole stems it's source,
I will find one who cares for me the way I need him to,
For unfortunately that one could not be you,
But a new love I am seeking,
I have stopped weeping,
For now I soar above a heavenly garden encrusted with roses,
This is where my happiness grazes,
I roam, but this time freely,
As I charge into my new course boldly.
