these walls

These walls, these walls of hell. What goes on inside them is often hard for me to tell. The secrets the lies,it is a place where many hopes have died. The hurt the pain, the tears I've cried were often like never ending rain.Instead of walking on eggshells,I was walking on glass,Flinching everytime he decided to walk past. Not knowing the next move he would successfully take, thinking in my mind how i could possibly escape. But there goes that voice in my head over and over again.I have no where else to go,he was sure I lost every last friend.I would much rather be with someone than to be alone. I can't think of one other place that I can call home. I lay next to him in the still of the night.Praying to god just hoping he might,Be a new person when he awakes. I'll do whatever I can I'll do whatever it takes. Then I awake to a brand new day.I'm careful not to speak until I know it's ok.I've learned to mask my emotion, often so very well. Because it did not matter how I felt, there was no one to tell.A robot controlled to do everything that he said.Cleaning every inch of the house while he enjoys breakfast in bed.If something was not done so perfectly right,It made a good excuse to pick the next fight. This time he just blackend my eye,But what would it take to finally say goodbye? As I pack up my things and I run for the door,He sobs for a chance but only one more. His swift talking lips know exactly what to say,And the love that I feel makes me tell him OK. Everything is fine until once again he decides to transform,The cycle lives on and once again is reborn.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
