I never asked for this (continued)

Contributed by purplestary on Wednesday, 14th April 2004 @ 01:23:10 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I never asked for money
I never wanted gold
I didn’t ask for much at all
And I didn’t want this pain.
I thought it would get better
I thought that you would care
But now I sit all alone
Wishing you were here
Now I see there is no time
None at all for me
So I will try to go on
And live a different life
How hard it’s going to get,
For me to leave you be
How my thoughts run back to you
How when I hurt I wish for you
To kiss it all away
--------------------------------------------------
But then at last
To my surprise
I hear your voice again
We plan a time for you and me
I nod my head in glee
Forget about the moving on
And the different life
I could never leave you be
No matter the consequence

This was very good, its hard for me to read a lot of the poetry on this sight and not have to go "are they serious" but in this one all the emotions in it seemed very real and not just a cry for attention which seems rare, i think i've written at least 5 of those exact lines before or at least thought of writing them
