war

Walking through the never ending field of fire,
Past the dried-blooded corpses,
For some, the end is near, and clearly in-sight,
For others, they will wait until the night,
To perish to the countries armed forces,
They see the hundreds of dead soldiers, riders and horses,
All lay like statues, upon the hard, cold, ground.
Still they walk through the battlefield, guns held high, they hear the sound,
Of soldiers crying out in their last breath, a final request, before their death.
'Tell my family i love them, i have fought to protect them and my country'
One more sacrifice, another thrown bitterly to their end,
Whose job was to fight, protect and defend..

Wow, what a vivid poem. Makes me think of Wilfred Owen. Awesome poem, shows the cruelty of war!
