Sound of thunder commands attention
In a storm to bring chance
Raining under my clouds
I question what I am about
Answers to wet my heated face
But in an hour I'll be hot again
How am I to pretend?
In the mind I brainstorm
But once the sun hits my head
I become the evil of the dead
Lightening strikes near and I become aware
Alert but still opposite of what I need
Hoping that someday I will be struck like the tree
But I'm insignificant and comprehensibly bare
It's a seasonal chance to sharpen my soul's pencil
And I wish not to be dull in this materialist world molding
But I will stoop to conformity and it's hypocritical stencil
Will I turn into another sketch of what spring could bring?
Haven't completely changed into the purity of spring
But I've noticed a storm developing
This time around I'm following the metaphor out to sea
And I'll becoming back as the season's purity
