The Field Of Battle

Contributed by MisterRight on Thursday, 26th September 2002 @ 07:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

There’s a raging battle within me,
A war between my mind and heart.
I have no knowledge of when it might end,
Or when exactly, it did start.
My heart is fighting for true love.
While my mind wishes to be in peace.
I must choose to side with one,
So this war will someday cease.
I consider myself intelligent, but
Who will be the victor, I cannot find.
Do I take up arms and fight for my heart?
Or use my strength to side with my mind?
My mind asks so many questions,
Questions of why, how, and when.
My heart believes in only love.
Answers, it has no need for them.
I’ve always relied on minds logic.
Still, I haven’t achieved my goal.
This time I’ll take the side of my heart.
It holds the key to complete my soul.
My heart must know the way,
To make this dream come true.
My mind only wants to protect me.
But my heart is battling for you.
My mind can become greedy and selfish.
My heart merely desires forever.
My minds impatient and anxious.
My heart refuses to surrender.
My mind seeks answers and knowledge.
Searching for solutions so it may thrive.
My heart is so simple and organ.
Only you, it needs, for it to survive.
My mind wars because of the past.
While my heart fights for our future.
The rest of me, between the two,
The now can be such torture.
My body, the field of battle.
I’ve taken alliance with my heart.
Once this war has been won,
With my dream, I’ll never part.
When it comes to love, I won’t side with my mind.
Or the questions that it may pose.
From this day on, I’ll follow my heart where it leads.
For you’re the one it chose.

Great write!!! Is it working??! If it is drop me a line or two... I need a new approach!!! Maybe being logical isn't ever going to work. ;) Thanks for the advice I'm sure a lot of us could use!

You're welcome Gin. Me, someone who thought they knew everything (or at least I sometimes act like I do) just recently learned... Love follows no logic... At All!!!
