Days Past

Contributed by JadedExistence on Tuesday, 13th April 2004 @ 07:33:15 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Forgotten dreams
At the bottom of shallow streams

Whispers of days long past
Memories of happiness that could never last

Recalling the bliss of innocence lost
Fearless and free, not knowing the cost

Laughter floating through the air
Unseen children dancing there

Candy covered lips and a pouting face
Frilly little dresses, made with lace

Looking up at the sky, stars shining bright
Eyes sparkling in early morning light

Saying your prayers every night in bed
Then upon your pillow, you lay your head

The imagery in this poem had me reaching for laughter in the sky and picturing children dancing there.

Very impressive!

Wow is all I can say..
