____________________________

Vindicated against the backdrop you paint
Creating perfect colors and sunlit portraits
Dripping with sensual textures to be seen
In the dark drawing rooms of winter
As memory slips and slides on icy recall
Hearing your laughter in the hallway
Takes up all the air and space inside my heart
Releasing tension and giving me hope again
That we can sit across the table, sipping wine
Telling terrible stories and laughing until 2 AM
Your intense dark eyes scrutinizing me
For flaws that you could turn into perfection
If I would turn my head a little more to the right
My shoe dangles from my foot enticing you
An invitation to sin among the sinners
Close-up of details reveals true intent
Committing the sin without enjoying it
How cold is a day in April on the equator
Insanely jealous of the sun you wear
While I sit by the fire still shivering with Winter
My cold lover still grips me with his despair
Despising your warm and sensual looks
Intruding into his bedroom and stealing me away
Hour by hour I drift on Mediterranean waters
Shipwrecked with DeVinci on the white sand
Soft sound of the shutter captures me smiling

Where to start? This poem was incredible to read. Talk about a journey for the mind! Wowsers...

I could see the shutter going at a fast speed on a zoom cannon. Oh and being shipwrecked with DeVinci.....Oh and the waters of the Mediterranean. Is there anything more beautiful?

Excellent poem...

Kie
