Where's God?

Contributed by JadedExistence on Tuesday, 13th April 2004 @ 02:34:31 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Where's God when people die?
When children cower in fear and cry?
Where's God when there's famine and war
When little girls are made into whores?
Where's God when people kill?
When someone swallows a handful of pills?
Where's God when people abuse?
When love is just another thing to use?
Where's God when we're lost and scared?
When families never really cared?
Where's God when you don't know what to do?
When you don't see any worth in you?
Where's God when someone starts to cut?
When they hear the whispers, "tramp, slut"?
Where's God when the world fills with hate?
When the whole world discriminates?
Where's God when people lose hope?
When they can no longer cope?

We can beg, cry, plead, and pray,
But his **** happens every single day.

Being an atheist, my comment won't be worth much!
But I feel that if you do believe in a superior God, this God can't be there to stop your mistakes, but to help you through them?
Interesting perspective.

Awesome poem... I am a Christian and have asked many of those same questions. I wish there was easy answers to your questions, but there isn't. All I know is that ppl make choices and obviously they can be good or bad choices so it isn't fair to say it is 'his sh*t' that's just making God a scapegoat which I admit is very easy to do. Once again an amazing poem and I hope you find the answers to your questions.

Okay, I just realized that in the last line it says "his ****" and that can be taken differently than I meant it so I would like to correct it and say that it was supposed to read "this ****".
Sorry.

Interesting write and these are good questions. I've come to understand/believe that all these things are a result of the fall. Sin and death came into the world through one man, Adam. Christ came that sin might be forgiven and death defeated.
