These Roads That Lead to Nowhere

Topic: DarkPoetry

How many roads we take that lead to nowhere.
A thousand times an hour is torn across,
And burned for the sake of going on living.
The tease and tyranny of choice.
Now the eyes of my eyes are opened.
Suffer the illnesses that are your prerogative alone.
Born in light, and dying in dark.
Begin to the loneliness that cannot end,
Stabbed twice from within.
Drink and be whole again beyond confusion,
When life is not a straight line.
Are there souls that need death’s presence?
Slowly the poison the bloodstream fills.
Skeletoned in darkness, hear the appalling cry.
The stars burn in agony.
You feel your fate in what you cannot fear.
Keep your wounds open—awake to uncertainty.
A certain sense of tragedy, a slight deception.
Dreaming evil, acting in disalgnment.
Wake in death to this abandoned world—
Though it will not correct a single line of verse.
Silence stays unbroken in the air.
Only your illness remains above it all,
Left to destroy all that remains of me.
I beg you hear my parting words,
Though I know you’re too far gone.
I cannot sleep for fear of your legacy,
Your disease which torments my thoughts,
My eternal torture which is your revenge.
