Nobody to Hold You

Contributed by merry on Monday, 12th April 2004 @ 02:49:14 PM in AEST
Topic: InternetLove

_______________________

Literally nobody to hold
Air and nothing more
Filling lungs with heated dreams
Lusting for the blue sparkling diamonds
Your eyes not so arrogant as unsure
Words led me to think something else
Capped the overflowing fountain
Whispering your name again and again
Until I lost my train of thought
Destroying the yellow sunlight
Turning it to faded twilight
Dashing hopes we have
Of holding hands in the afternoon
How could I be so unwise
To kiss you like that, and not realize
Your standards are the same as mine
Ingredients we crave are there
In varying amounts we hoard
What we look for in each other’s eyes
Acceptance is it not?
Well past beautiful we have turned
Yet attraction blossoms like a rose
Fragrant and seductive bud
Tantalizing mystery of love

Love is all of those things you described. It is painful when the realization comes that you are hugging only space that can't be held within loving arms.

Very deep, thought provoking poem.

Enjoyed it immensely.

My God woman...this is incredible. You are so in my head sometimes, but no wonder ( twins)

Well past beautiful we have turned
Yet attraction blossoms like a rose
Fragrant and seductive bud
Tantalizing mystery of love

awestruck

Roses at your feet again
Larry
