As I Live

I die a little bit every day
As I listen to the harsh words that people say
I try to keep the peace inside my head
While there's a war outside on the ground I tread
I walk through the fire without a burn
As I think of the happiness for which I yearn
I see the anguish, the blood, the sweat and tears
As I look through my generation, my friends and peers
I regret all the bad times, and all my stupid lies
As I look into my mother's saddened eyes
I think of all the wisdom to me my father gave
As I turn my head down to look upon his grave
I think of all the good things I have to give
As I realize I have but one life to live.

I felt like this in the past. I was hard to come out of it. But it was my friends that pulled me out. Good job on this poem and keep up the good work. -Steve-
