I remember my father through the years,
I can still see him through the tears.
He was always there, always strong,
In his eyes I could do no wrong.
He was my father, my friend, my dad,
The day he left me, my heart was sad.
At that moment my world was shaken,
I didn’t understand why he was taken.
To go on without him is to bear the grief,
I still talk to him and that offers relief.
I feel his presence guiding my way,
He watches over my family every day.
He walks with the Lord, this I can see,
No matter where I go, my father is with me.
