Old Sparky

Contributed by parkman on Sunday, 11th April 2004 @ 04:18:48 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I take a draw of my cigarette, a sip of my beer
Thinking of life, as death is so near
This was my last wish, as it came near my time
To sit in old sparky and I'm feeling fine

I can hear wardens mumbling, outside my cell
Whispering to each other, may he rot in hell
The crime I commited, the most serious one
I took eight young lives and all for fun

A psychiatrist deemed me, fit to stand trial
I knew what I had done, there was no denial
The jury all sickened, by what was revealed
Seeing on their faces, my fate had been sealed

The verdict came back, guilty as hell
Death by electrocution, the families all yell
I laugh in their faces, as I am taken down
Hurling abuse, at the folks of this town

My time has now come, as I'm put in the chair
Being strapped in, hood covering my stare
Lights going dim, as my body does fry
Revenge will be mine, even though I now die
