When I can't breathe
When I cant' think
Or comprehend between what is
Right or wrong
Who will do it for me?
When I'm drowing
In my own sadness and despair
When I'm too tired and weak
To keep trying and reaching
Will anyone be there to help me
Or to keep my head above the water?
Must I remain alone when I don't have to?
Or is it I who is damning myself
And hurting myself?
And if I am
Do I have anyone
Someone to make me stop?
To push me to the ground
Look into my eyes and make me realize
What it is I couldn't see?
If I had that now
Would I be here, where I am?
Is it wrong to be alone or hurt?
With every tear that I cry
With every cut that I make
I'm releasing my pain
But I always gain it back doubled
And no one understands
That I don't want to hide
But who will take my hand
And pull me out?
I can't do it alone
Even though I believe that I can
I can't release what I'm feeling
Without hurting someone
Or hurting myself
I'm trapped and I can't break free
And I've given up
I've broken down
And no one will come near or touch me
I did this and I can't stop it
And if I can't save me
Who will?
You?

I know what it is to cry to the one who will never know that you love them. It's a burden that weighs one down more and more each day. Not much I can say but live for the good, hope for the best, and just let life take care of the rest. Sorry, couldn't resist.
Your poem speaks volumes in it's intensity. If it's true I hope you find the strength you need to carry on. I have so far. |
