Afar at Playston Green where heather grows
and cold winds often blow across the lea.
Where feuding families exchange hard blows
and stalwart souls must keep their eyes a glee.
There by the river Krone as by decree
is Playston Manor site, the home of Leeds.
Estate's strong master holds this place all free
since he alone did save Prince James at Streeds.
Franks wanted James' head, ending sire's wondrous deeds.
Stephanus Marcus gained reward from throne
for saving James from Frankish blades that day.
A stately home beside the river Krone,
best acres free at Playston many say.
The knight of blazon leopard gold doth pray
that he can be of service evermore
to Laurence, England's mighty monarch stay.
To be his knight in any kind of war,
for liege whose shield a great escutcheoned lion bore.
