Pieces of broken Glass

Contributed by Avis_Nigra on Friday, 9th April 2004 @ 04:40:18 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Pieces of broken Glass

I am looking down on the cullets,
black stains of coffee resembling
blood on the knife's sharp blade

I am looking down on the fragments
not giving away any more
the shape they have formed seconds before

Pieces of broken Glass

Reminding me to the pieces of
what once my life has been
not telling where they have come from

But other than you
my life has not come apart at once
I allowed it to break and others along

Pieces of broken Glass

As I now look down on you
all of sudden my heart the first time hears
the words my mind has known for weeks

My time is up as is yours
you where to help me to get through this night
and in a way helping you do

Pieces of broken Glass

When you broke - so did something inside me
you were only there, never really noticed
until you were gone

And while I slowly go your way
I wonder who will be missed more- you or me
I know you deserved it more

Pieces of broken Glass

i recently ripped up everything i had drawn, starting with a drawing of two people kissing, everything torn like the way i felt, then i pieced them back together with tacks on my wall, looks pretty cool.....there is this song by evanescance, i forget what its called it was a one time thing anyway, it goes:
broken pieces shattered
too small to matter
but big enough to cut me
into so many little pieces

this was really dark for your style, but i like it when people break out of their sterotypical styles......very good write
