The Yellow Rose

I'm a Texas archeologist
A gravedigger by trade
And in the Texas desert
The yellow rose was made
Mummified in this great land
I found the yellow rose
She was so doggone pretty
In her state of repose
The yellow rose I kissed
Her eyes did open wide
I kissed her once again
She held me and she cried
A heart as big as Texas
A brahma bull she rides
The yellow rose of Texas
She chose to be my bride
We now have little Texans
They're running all around
This from an excavation
I can't believe I found
Deep in the heart of Texas
You'll find a yellow rose
A woman that is ageless
And sand that turns to prose
