Rage On You

Topic: AngryPoetry

Look what you said to me;
did you hear it too?
Or were you too focused
on your views of you?

I hear the screaming words
"YOU'RE SELFISH...SUFFER IN HELL."
I see it soak into me and I scream
"NOW I'LL NEVER TELL."

You look down on depression
as a dagger looks down on the dead.
You look down on suicide
as one who's never heard that voice inside your head.

You've never felt each word push you closer;
you've never tried to live in my skin.
You've never considered the lack of hope;
you've never thought that not everyone can win.

It's YOU that push the tormented
farther and farther away.
It's YOU that drag the diseased of soul
down farther and farther to pay.

Where is your love
when people are screaming in pain?
Where is your love
when they beg for you to help again?
Where is your love
when they go against your way?
Where is your love
when they prove that you don't stay?

You can't see past the fact we're human.
You can't see past the fact we're not alright.
You can't see past the fact we're not you.
And you can't see past the fact we want to fight.

And so we listen
to your scornful words,
placing you above the rest of us,
in your convoluted world.

You snap each life rope
with some twisted conviction,
that you're sent from God,
you say "let's end this affliction."

All you've got left for us are words,
unfulfilled promises that leave us wanting more.
All you've got left for us are steps,
leading up to locked doors.

You scream out that God cares,
that through you He'll raise the dead!
Where are your followers?
Where are the living who were dead?
Where is your proof that you are right
in all the claims that you pour forth so loud?
Why don't you just bury the truth
in it's burial shroud?

So you keep on screaming
that it's all our own fault.
Because now you've unleashed the flood,
the thoughts held in our secret vault.
And it will flow over you.
It will leave you destitute.
Because it's just increasing us,
making us ever resolute.

Next time I wish you'd consider your words,
and their affect upon people like me.
Next time why don't you leave your pedestal,
so you're face to face with me.

Next time consider what you say;
listen to that sound.
Next time remember to focus afar;
see the pain that gathers round.

So next tiem I hear the screaming words
"YOU'RE SELFISH...SUFFER IN HELL."
I'll scream right back for you
"TO GO TO HELL."

I know we're hypocritical too,
but our God is still the one and true.
And that fact will never change,
despite the "me"'s and all the "you"'s.

This reminds me of one of my motto's, SHOW ME, DON'T TELL ME.
You've done a brilliant job with this right and the sad part is it's so true.
I don't do religion but I most definently am into God.
You shall know them by their friuts.
Great job.
No one has a right to be judge mental of anyone.
I always say, "The only thing on this planet that I'm 100% sure of is that I'm Jesus kid."
Other than that I don't claim to know much.
Hang tuff and it's what's in one's heart that counts.
Ya know I use to go to church but if ya hang around some folks long enuff u can see their heart. I refuse to let someone that has a heart blacker than mine line me up on a pew and tell me how to live!
Good write here as it reaches out and grabs ya.
luv, huggs, hope, freedom,
emy
