two of a kind

Nothing lost in the details
Provided we are carefully aware
Not to slide into something comfortable
Resistance is weak at any given moment
Wanting fills every other breath
Breaking down believers
Turn spring into summer
Lethargic dreamers
Casting shadows before us
Like tentacles of despair
They have seen us before
Heard the whispers grow louder
Slaking our lust for excitement
Inevitably we are lost again and again
In greener pastures of plenty
Where we smell our next meal
Surely a banquet awaits us
Moving closer by degrees
Occasionally see each other
Through blood-thirsty eyes
Not willing to risk it, we are two of a kind

Mmmmm. The uniting of souls---seeing your own reflection in your lover's eyes. You always describe these things so well.
