The time has come, for me to go, time to slip away
I've lasted longer, than doctors gave, now is my final day
No sad farewells, no tears goodbye, only smiles of love
I'm going to a place, where I'll be free, the great land up above
We've shared so much, gave so much, in our time together
I want you to know, within my heart, you'll always be forever
Our family is grown, a joy to see, grandchildren that they gave
Visions of beauty and smiling faces, I take to my grave
Our pain will stop, sorrow too, when I shut my eyes
Darling I promise, my love for you, it never dies
No sad farewells, no tears goodbye, no rivers do we cry
I'll be waiting patiently, for you my darling, up there in the sky

Very well written poem, full of poignant measure and an intriguing rhyme scheme.
Very emotive. |
