Crystal tears trickle
down soft and pale skin,
as she hangs up the phone.
Straight rowan hair falls lightly
over a torn countenance,
…no more, it is over…
She thought they had been just fine
just fine
but now the graveyard calls…
and so she turns out each light
the floorboards scream goodbye
bare feet travel through the mud,
to the beach where they used to go.
I’ll show him
I’ll show him
The darkness caresses her skin,
touches her
like he never could…
the wind reaches under her skirt,
and she is there.
So cold, now so inviting,
the sea, drifting black,
hisses, whispers,
…i can wash your tears away…
And far above her the fading moon of blue
weeps softly to her plea.
So foot in front of foot,
she steps to Velveteen,
the water soft enveloping,
swallowing
her life,
her love,
her tears…
