Frodo Baggins ( Ring Bearer in ''Lord of the Rings''

Contributed by Heart_n_soul on Tuesday, 24th September 2002 @ 07:15:49 PM in AEST
Topic: mythology

He is a young man; a hobbit is he.
Waged on him is a war.
A ring that is entrusted would be,
An adventure of his life he had never imagined by far.

Bilbo, his cousin, left him this ring.
He wanted to leave the Shire.
He wanted to leave without any traces.
He was tired of all the same family faces.
He knew not what was about to transpire.

He wanted to leave without turning back to look.
He needed to see the mountains, and to get away.
He wanted to finish his book.
He said he would never be coming back that way.

Bilbo didn’t know this thing he had done.
He left the ring behind. He wanted the ring
The fate of the ring…Frodo was the chosen one
Gandalf said let it go, it’s time to pass it on.
The time for its deeds had surely come.

Gandalf, the old family friend.
Came to Bag End, a place in Hobitton.
Frodo had come to live there, because of his parent’s untimely end.
He had grown to be more like Bilbo’s son.

Dangers there lurked outside his door.
A demon spirit on a horse.
Evil was out to get the ring
Time had taken its course.

The horseman had no face.
Black as night was his mighty steed.
So was his hood and cape.
This black spirit wanted this ring.
He wanted his dead spirit to be freed.

Frodo’s life was about to become a race.
He would every minute try for his own escape.
His friend Gandalf, a Merlin-like figure was he.
Bilbo had asked him to care for Frodo.
Frodo’s life he would come to oversee.

Gandalf sensed something strange within about this small ring.
He searched for the answers; curiosity took him to seek this out.
What special power did this ring bring?
All who possessed it had special powers, there was no doubt.

This ring of Legend and Myth.
The ring was forged in the Mount of Doom.
Sauron was its master. It’s intent was total reign and rule.
Darkness of spirit in this ring would loom.

Into this ring was poured his cruelty and his malice.
Nothing of its master was pure.
But in Sauron’s defeat his spirit would still live on.
The evil would surely endure.
His evil spirit would be back to claim it…this was very sure.

Sauron, the Dark Lord and his ring wraith band.
Were out to put the ring in its rightful place.
On it’s master’s hand.
Frodo’s life was truly now in a race.

Frodo would truly come to regret the fate he had met.
Why had this ring come his way?
It was fated back in time…that fateful date was surely set.
Why, with his own life, must he pay?

The wraiths and the Dark Lord now stand before him.
Forces far beyond little Frodo’s might.
Things look very grim.
Now ensued a fight.

Wounded, and close to death, Frodo is slipping away.
When a gentle voice comes from the Lady of the forest.
“I’ve come here to help you”
“I must get you to my homeland”…“It is for your best.”
Or your life will surely slip away.

This gentle voice, fair was she like a flower.
She took his dying body, placed him on her horse.
She rode so hard, she pushed this horse to use all his strength and power.
She got him to her homeland, to save his life force.

Frodo received the Elvin Elixir, and in time he did recover.
Now was time to make a resolve.
He was about to discover,
A fellowship of nine would soon be involved.

Two were mighty with the sword, one with his bow.
Another with his Axe.
Men with might; their talents, they were ready, into this battle to go.
In might and strength none of them were lax.

This council of men gathered together
This fellowship came to be.
So many dangers still yet to see.
Much danger, and treachery.

Frodo’s quest to return the ring from whence it came.
The evil flames…wanted to lay its claim.
It sought to be with its master
The Ring and, and it’s master felt the same.

Now the nine have rested they have resolved to put evil to rest.
All are on their way. In the forest the Orks, the elven people that had turned to evil creatures. Their might and strength were about to put all nine to the test.

Strider, one of the mighty, he loved Frodo with all his heart.
Devoted to ban the evil…to rid Middle Earth of Sauron’s evil rule.
He wanted to help Frodo right from the very start.
Orcs are now in sight…now is time for the mightiest dual!

The Orcs, Sauron’s evil fleet, out to kill Frodo
To posses the ring was their feat.

Strider’s brother another warrior mighty with the sword
Ran through with arrows thrice.
As he lay dying he confessed the ring would have been his deadliest vice.

Strider fought the demon, who had shot his brother through three times.
As he lay dying he swore on his honor not to let his city fall or his people fail.
Strider’s heart ached for the way his brother had been impaled.

After the battle some of the nine had lost their lives...the fellowship now was no longer.
Frodo knows now he must go on alone.
Frodo stands by the shore with ring in hand and now feels stronger.
In grief for all lost and the anger he cries out with a moan.

Jumping into his boat...he is going to brave this task alone.
With determined heart he started to row to get to the other side.
But what is that? What does he hear? Is it Samwise Gamgee’s tone?
Samwise Gamgee pleaded with Frodo let me go with you, and waited for Frodo to decide.

The two of them finally come to see the fires of Mount Doom from afar.
The horizon shows the fires looming over the mountain top.
They vow to take the ring there, and remove from mankind this Evil Czar.
So Sauron’s Evil rule will forever stop!

this poem could be improved by making it several shorter poems about each part of the movie you felt inspired by. the movie is jsut to long and complicated to write one cohereant poem about the whole thing. some good ideas here, though.
