How could I have done this to you,
Put everything at risk because I had no clue.
I’m still learning and this lesson cost me big.
You forgave me but you are still hurt.
I shocked even myself when you picked up,
And I heard your voice tremble with pain.
Right then I realized what I had done.
I’ll never let it happen again for my sake.
My emotions got the better of me,
I brought us both down and that’s my burden.
You were my guide but I strayed,
You were my hope but I despaired,
You were my happiness in my depression,
You were mine but are no more.
