A woman's work is never done

Topic: HumorPoetry

Somebody has to help me
I’m feeling really bored
My mind’s not being stimulated
And hobbies I can’t afford

I have an overwhelming desire
Of housework that needs to be done
I’d even enjoy the ironing
Am I the only one?

Think I’ll scrub the kitchen floor
Get down on hands and knees
Polish tiles until they shine
Won’t somebody help me please?

And then there is the cooker
Full of grease and slime
Might go over that once or twice
Or thrice if I’ve got time

I’ll polish all my bookshelves
Get rid of all the dust
The tele, video, dvd
Light switches if I must

I’ll go round with the hoover
And suck up all the dirt
Then I think I’ll clean my windows
I’m sure that wouldn’t hurt

Do piles and piles of washing
Cram it all in the machine
Thank god I’ve got a dryer
‘Cause the weathers really mean

By now I’m getting knackered
Although bored I’m certainly not
I drink a cup of coffee
I’m feeling rather hot

So now my work is done here
A nice relaxing bath I think
But what about the washing up?
I forgot in the bloody sink!!

sounds like my Paula! when shes bored she has to tidy up immediatley, runs around like billy whizz, must be something in your hormones. I do like to help though i lifted my feet twice so she could finish the hoovering.
( before i get bombarded with e-mails from womans rights groups that was a joke!) I'll have to let her read this though because she's always finishing then remembering the washing up! good write.

*sigh*
I wish I had your gusto for housework. I can barely see what i'm typing for all the dust on my monitor!! lol.

Another enjoyable poem, you've penned here - succinctly rhymed, fluidly told and delivered with wit . . . as per usual.

This was so funny and flowed really well.
Although I have never been bored enough to ever enjoy housework. That is one thing I so dread doing that I prefer to not dirty anything up to keep from doing it.

LOL!
