dead in this bed

I wait anxiously for this bed to warm
as I wait and anticipate the looming void of sleep
this bed once offered comfort
but now is a meaningless way to pass some time
in this bed I'm lifeless
not resting
and uncomfortable with my toleration of it
I'll sleep in perfect vacancy
no dreams
no feelings
just dead
and I will wake
only to long again
for the death that awaits me tonight

I wonder why you have submitted this poem under 'Life Poetry' while it seems to signify the very opposite... interesting...
Very eye-opening, and stirring
Nice write!!

Interesing... I liked the analogies as well though I didn't understand them. |
